Ongoing Support for Safe and Effective Treatment
Medication can be one part of a comprehensive mental health treatment plan. Agape’s qualified psychiatric providers work with patients to determine whether medication may be appropriate and to monitor treatment over time.
Medication Management May Include
• Reviewing current and previous medications
• Discussing expected benefits, possible risks and side effects
• Monitoring symptoms, response and adherence
• Making clinically appropriate adjustments
• Providing medication education
• Coordinating with primary care and other treating professionals with authorization

Patients should take medication only as prescribed and should not stop or change psychiatric medication without speaking with the prescribing provider. Medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate.
What Is Medication Management?
Medication management for mental health is the ongoing process of prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications to help treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental health disorders. It's typically provided by a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or other licensed prescriber who evaluates symptoms, determines whether medication is appropriate, and works closely with the patient to find the right medication and dosage. Regular follow-up appointments allow the provider to track progress, address side effects, and make adjustments as needed. Medication management is often combined with therapy for a more complete, well-rounded approach to mental health treatment.
